In addition to aprons, you may have noticed that we started selling additional Itty Bitty Bakers merch. You may also have noticed that the merch is not for sale on our website. Weird, right? Wondering why?
Well, we have a license to do business under the umbrella of education. It's a service-based business license rather than a product-based business license. In other words, we can't sell products on our website. However, a website like Zazzle has an affiliate program where we can sell our branded (and non-branded) designs on a wide-range of products (and I do mean wide-range, like, pickleball paddles and leggings).
Now, you may be wondering about earnings. Zazzle works on royalties. Itty Bitty Bakers earns 5% of every sale, which ain't much. But, given that we don't have a product-based business license and we don't have to pay taxes on products sold, I think it's a fair deal.
Besides, the main reason to have merch in the first place is to encourage kids to learn and be creative in the kitchen. Baking is a great hobby kids should be proud of, right? The other reason to have this merch is to increase our brand awareness and get our Itty Bitty Bakers name out there as the place to go for kids culinary education. Whoop-whoop!
Zazzle is also unique because shoppers can personalize and customize the products themselves, if they want to. I have come up with some designs and added them to our Zazzle storefront. Take a look - do they need a color or font change to be more to your liking? You can change things using the "Edit Design" feature!
Hesitant to play editor? That's fine, too! You can buy the products just the way they are. Have an idea for a design? Let me know! I'm open to suggestions.
Below are some of the products I've designed with kid bakers in mind, both those who are part of Itty Bitty Bakers and those who are not (they can simply "Edit Design" and remove our logo, if preferred).
So, go buy some merch, people! Wear it loud and proud! We have ZERO sales to-date, so I'm looking for someone to thank for being our first shopper. ;)

Question for you: Should we also join the Amazon affiliate program? Would love to hear your thoughts!
