Ingredients
1 Large Red Onion
3 Tablespoons White Distilled Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Water
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Pinch of Salt
Directions
Peel Red Onion and cut in half. Cut each onion half into thin consistent slices. Set aside.
In a medium bowl add vinegar, sugar, water and salt. Stir until sugar and salt are dissolved.
Add red onions to the bowl and mix so they are all coated in the liquid. Let them sit for 10 minutes and mix again. They can be used immediately and will have a “bite” or store in a glass jar to use for the next day with a rounded out flavor.
Notes:
The white distilled vinegar can be substituted for your favorite. Maybe you want to use Apple Cider vinegar when pairing with pork or Red Wine vinegar when pairing with beef. These can be used to top salads, pizza/flatbread, sandwiches and tacos just to name a few.
