Create a core memory this summer? Kids who attended the Inside Out 2 Baking Camps sure did! In addition to baking, these camps aimed at getting kids to talk about the movie, maximizing the experience of identifying feelings.
Teachers Jeni Warram (Hoover), Katie McCreless (Gardendale), and Ashley Kauffman (Auburn) hosted camps in their homes and the results were outstanding. Not only the recipes (scroll down to the bottom), but also the activities fit the theme.
Take a look below. You might just find something to do with your kids!

Gummy Bear Feelings Game
In this game, kids draw a gummy bear out of a bag. Then, they have to name the emotion that coincides with the color of the gummy bear they choose. After that, if possible, they have to think of a scene in either Inside Out or Inside Out 2 when Riley felt that emotion. Then they can eat their gummy bear, of course! Or, save it in a baggie to take home.
Marshmallow Island Activity
In this activity, kids talk about all of the "islands" in Riley's brain, such as Family Island, Friend Island, Goofball Island, Hockey Island, etc. For more background on the existing islands, click here. Then, they come up with a new island idea for Riley's brain! For example, if they create School Island, then they use marshmallows and toothpicks to shape their structure like a school and all of the marshmallows are memories made at School Island. "The kids were so creative and were cracking me up with this activity," said Mrs. Ashley.
