This simple idea manages to be a snack, craft, activity and treat all in one. Even better, it’s also fun for kids AND helps with their growth and development!
Ingredients:
-Graham Crackers
-Cookie Icing
-Conversation Hearts
Directions:
1. Have kids make lines in a tic-tac-toe pattern on the top of a graham cracker square. This is harder than you may think, and really works the hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness skills. If they mess up, no biggie, let them eat the graham cracker and start over! (After a few tries, you may have to help with this part depending on their age and skill level.)
2. While icing is drying, have kids sort conversation hearts into piles according to color. Have each child choose a color to represent them as would an "X" or "O" in the traditional game.
3. Once each child has a pile of one color, the game can begin with each player taking their turn putting pieces on the board until someone wins! But in this game, everyone wins. ;-)
